JoAnn Hargis

September 02, 1935 - October 12, 2009

JoAnn Hargis, 74, Harrisonville, MO, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Leukemia Society, Mid-America Chapter, 6811 West 63rd Street, Suite 202, Shawnee Mission, KS 66202.

JoAnn was born September 2, 1935 in Clinton, MO, the daughter of James Francis ll and Willella (Hicks) Pearcy. She had lived in the Garden City, MO area before moving to Harrisonville. She was a graduate of Clinton Missouri High School.

JoAnn had worked for United Telephone as a switchboard operater for several years, worked at the Lee Theater in Harrisonville and the Cass County Drive-In for several years while also working at Crabtree Harmon, Harmon and Durham Bus Company for the past 41 years, driving a bus for the Harrisonville schools.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Tim and David Hargis, one brother, Paul Wesley Pearcy and one sister, Evelyn Ruth Kunkler. She is survived by two sons, Jeff Hargis, Cleveland, MO and Eric Hargis, Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Linda Keeth, Harrisonville, MO; one brother, James Francis Pearcy, III, Higginsville, MO; one sister, Jean Groves, Kansas City, MO; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

JoAnn was a very loving person who would do anything for her family and friends. I want to THANK MOM for always supporting her children and always being there for us in everything that we did.  Please keep our family in your prayers as we go through this difficult time.
